Journal of Space Philosophy Volume 12, Number 1
Explore the Fall 2023 Journal of Space Philosophy issue on Human Well-Being on Earth and in Space, today! The feature article, by Nick Nielsen focuses on the technological textures of life on Earth and in space. Then, Christine Tan and Frank White look at the intersection between the Overview Effect and systems. Jason Batt’s article offers a reflection on the archetypal consciousness in space travel. Abdulaziz Alareedh discusses a religious view on human ethics in the space era. It draws heavily on an earlier paper of Gordon Arthur on cosmic and universal ethics, which we reprint at the end of the issue for readers’ convenience. It was originally published in the journal in 2014. Finally, Chris Carberry discusses the use of alcohol in space. We are grateful to all our contributors for their work, and we are always open to good new papers from existing and new contributors.
We are also issuing calls for papers for the Spring and Fall 2024 editions of the journal. The spring edition will focus on the philosophy and ethics of space law, while the fall issue will address space healthcare and emergency response for the multi-generational human family in space communities. Both may also include material on other subjects.Â
